Here’s a little bit about me - I hold a BSc (Hons) in Garden and Green Space Design from the University of Glasgow and formal horticultural qualifications from Moulton College. Although this is where I got my formal qualification, my true connection to building gardens started at a much earlier moment, it started way back when I was 5 or 6 years old helping my grandpa his is garden. We built ponds, planted shrubs and trees and looked after his impeccable vegetable garden. This is the moment that sparked a lifelong interest in how outdoor spaces are made and enjoyed.
Now with over ten years of experience in the industry, ranging from being hands-on on-site building gardens from plans to then four years at a large, established garden design practice, where I managed complex, large-scale projects. That ground-up experience has shaped the way I design today, giving me a clear understanding of how ideas translate into reality and how important good communication is throughout the process.
For me, garden design has always been about how a space makes you feel, and how it supports the way you live. I design gardens that are thoughtful, technically sound, and emotionally engaging. Places that feel like a natural extension of the home rather than something separate from it.
Every project begins with listening. I take time to understand my clients’ lifestyles, aspirations, and how they want to use their garden, whether that’s relaxing, entertaining, or simply reconnecting with nature and the people around them. From there, I translate those ideas into clear, well-considered designs that can be built properly and enjoyed for years to come.
My approach is technically led and highly collaborative. I work closely with architects, landscapers and groundworks contractors to ensure each design is practical, compliant, and carefully resolved. I place real value on detail, from structure and materials to cost awareness and long-term performance because good design should work as well as it looks.
Aesthetically, my work sits within contemporary and modernist gardens, always tailored to the client and the setting. I’m drawn to strong structure, clean lines, and sympathetic materials, softened by planting that brings movement, atmosphere, and a sense of life. Longevity is central to my thinking. All of this allows the garden to mature gracefully and become richer over time.
Today, I work with a trusted network of proven landscapers, suppliers, and industry professionals. I prioritise quality, longevity, and strong working relationships over short-term savings, believing that the best gardens are those designed with care, intention, and respect for both people and place.
Neville is the heart of the studio and our most enthusiastic site supervisor. Whether he’s inspecting planting schemes, supervising patio installations, or welcoming clients with a wagging tail, Neville takes his role very seriously; especially when treats are involved.
With an expert nose for freshly turned soil and a lifelong passion for sunny spots, Neville ensures every project maintains the highest standards of comfort, calm, and canine approval. When not overseeing garden transformations, you’ll usually find him napping on the sofa, having zoomies around the garden, or accompanying us on design visits.
